Meridian - in collaboration with UR4Africa, a social enterprise dedicated to fostering creativity and unique African content amongst youth and young adults, - implemented a mural arts exchange in Lagos, Nigeria, on the theme of peace and security from April 1-15, 2017.
Philadelphia-based artist Paul Santoleri spent two weeks there working with a group of students from Yaba Technical High School to paint the façade of the Ikeja Area F Police Command Headquarters. The activity served as a backdrop for 30 younger children to discuss similar themes through art and music. Their ideas contributed to the full composition of the two-story piece, while they painted words of encouragement to the police force on the perimeter fence.
