On Tuesday February 19, 2013, Meridian hosted its quarterly Board and Council Dinner with a “salon style” discussion on what’s ahead for Libya and Syria. Featured speakers for the dinner included His Excellency Ali Suleiman Aujali, Ambassador of Libya to the United States, Ambassador William Taylor, Special Coordinator for Middle East Transitions at the U.S. Department of State, and Mr. David Ignatius, Associate Editor and Op-Ed Columnist with The Washington Post. Meridian’s President and CEO, Ambassador Stuart Holliday, chaired the off-the-record discussion, which included members of Meridian’s Board of Trustees and Corporate Council, along with policy makers from the U.S. government and think tank communities. Governor James Blanchard, Meridian’s Chairman, provided opening remarks to set the stage for the evening’s dynamic conversation.
