Lebanon: Combating International Crime

This project will focus on the U.S. commitment to global cooperation on international crime. You will examine the broad range of policies and operational strategies and the complex network of federal and private-sector institutions working to combat transnational crime and ensure secure borders. Meetings will address money laundering and other financial crimes; trafficking in drugs, persons, and arms; cyber-crime; smuggling; and the nexus between international crime and terrorism.

Additionally, you will analyze national and international cooperative efforts to combat criminal and terrorist activity, and assess domestic crime reduction strategies for countering radicalization and violence. The project will also address the issues of balancing law enforcement and security with the protection of civil liberties.
