This program sought to provide an overview of the economic, political, and social foundations and institutions relevant to U.S. trade and investment practices, and the domestic and international economic forces that influence trade policy. Participants explored current economic trends, U.S. fiscal and monetary policies, trade agreements, and their impact on the global economy and examined the role of the media, regulatory agencies, and consumer advocacy groups in informing the public on domestic and international economic trends and financial issues. Participants were able to meet with private and public sector officials to discuss entrepreneurship, regulations, and the current economic landscape of the U.S.
