On February 2 and 17, 2016, Meridian partnered with BP America to host informative salon-style dinners around the themes of “Transforming the Energy Landscape Through Technology” and “Beyond These Turbulent Times: The Global Energy System Through 2035.” These off-the record, facilitated conversations on pressing global issues were part of Meridian’s Global Dialogue Series.
Special guests BP Head of Group Technology David Eyton and BP Chief Economist Spencer Dale shared findings from BP’s technology and energy outlooks. Mr. Eyton raised issues surrounding the importance of technology in significantly improving energy efficiency. Mr. Dale led a discussion on the volatility of the global energy market and the possibilities and mechanisms for stabilizing the market over the coming years.
Attendees included a cross-section of Washington’s top public and private sector leaders with high-level representatives from the diplomatic corps, federal government, business community, environmental NGOs, think-tanks and the media.
