As space becomes the next frontier for technological collaboration, the United States is deepening partnerships with key allies such as Peru to ensure a shared, secure vision for the future of space. On March 27th, the U.S. Department of State hosted eight Peruvian civil and military officials at Meridian International Center to launch the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) titled: Enabling Space Cooperation with Peru. In August of 2022, Meridian implemented the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) Initiative titled "Entrepreneurship as an Engine of Prosperity and Stability" in partnership with the U.S. Department of State. Over 100 participants traveled from 67 countries to network and share best practices in small business development and creating a viable startup ecosystem. Six separate cohorts were arranged representing various regions and one multi-regional project. This project sought to provide supplemental programming for alumni of IVLP journalism-themed programs on topics related to Journalism in the Age of COVID-19. Over the course of five weeks, in collaboration with the Poynter Institute and World Partnerships, Inc. in St. Petersburg, Florida, Meridian offered a series of events to explore journalism topics and seek to provide practical information and skills. Overall, the series reached 64 IVLP alumni from 39 countries.
