• To examine the impact of volunteerism in U.S. communities and how volunteers, particularly young people, are inspired to help foster a culture of service and civic responsibility;
• To learn best practices in volunteer recruitment, retention, and management;
• To explore the concept of “social entrepreneurship” and efforts to organize, create, and manage a venture to make social change;
• To participate in community service activities; and
• To celebrate citizen diplomacy and community service by recognizing the IVLP’s 70th anniversary and the Peace Corps’s 50th anniversary
