During the summer of 2013, Meridian International Center administered the Study of U.S. Institutes for Student Leaders for Public Policy and Government Leadership (SUSI), funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. SUSI is a unique hybrid of an intensive academic program combined with leadership training and cultural exchange. The program provides student leaders with a deeper understanding of the United States, and enables them to become more effective leaders and agents of change, by enhancing their knowledge, skills, confidence, and networks.
The SUSI program consists of 4 weeks of on-campus academic study at four U.S. universities (George Mason University, Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, University of Massachusetts Donahue Institute, Virginia Commonwealth University), followed by a two-week integrated study program in Washington, DC, and concluding with a conference hosted by Meridian International Center.
