Meridian held an installment of the Global Business@Meridian Downtown breakfast series on December 11, 2013, featuring His Excellency Kim Beazley, Ambassador of Australia to the U.S. Hosted by Michael Flannigan, Corporate Council member and Vice President of Global Government Advocacy, Peabody Energy, the discussion focused on trade and investment opportunities in Australia surrounding the Australia-U.S. Free Trade Agreement (AUSFTA).
Ambassador Beazley was accompanied by Amanda Sayegh, Minister-Counselor (Economic), and attending Corporate Council Members included: Peabody Energy, The Collins Johnson Group, DLA Piper, Exxon Mobil Corporation, NBCUniversal, and Northrop Grumman, along with guests representing Alcatel-Lucent, ConocoPhillips, American Express, Ford Motor Co., and Entertainment Software Association.
