Global Business@Meridian Downtown: Azerbaijan

Meridian International Center held an installment of its Global Business@Meridian Downtown breakfast series on October 29, 2014. Hosted by Ms. Kay Larcom, Manager of Federal Affairs - International for ConocoPhillips, and Mr. William Burkett, Business Development Manager, CIS, Europe, Middle East, and East Africa for ConocoPhillips, the program featured an off-the-record discussion with His Excellency Elin Suleymanov, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the United States. Following welcome remarks by Mr. Burkett - who has more than 20 years of international business development experience with ConocoPhillips, focusing on the Russia/Caspian region, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America, and joining from the Houston office - Corporate Council members and guests engaged in a group discussion with Ambassador Suleymanov on U.S.- Azerbaijan bilateral relations, the current business and trade climate within Azerbaijan, and current opportunities and challenges for multi-national companies seeking to establish or expand their respective operations within country.
