Emerging Archive Technologies to Safeguard Cultural Heritage

During a daytrip to Baltimore, international visitors had a chance to visit the George Peabody Library.

Professionals from museums, libraries, and historic sites across Pakistan are leading the way in leveraging technology to protect, preserve, and present cultural heritage. Through immersive visits to institutions like the Smithsonian, Walters Art Museum, and Field Museum, this group explored innovative conservation techniques and community engagement strategies. From experiencing cutting-edge audio tours at Alcatraz to celebrating Thanksgiving in Plymouth, Massachusetts—the birthplace of the holiday—these experts gained invaluable insights to drive cultural preservation in their home country. As one participant shared:

"The program left an indelible mark on my heart. The gained experience and ideas that I took with me will be applied in our country in order to bring a positive impact in our society. After attending this program, I feel more activated to take initiatives for the protection and promotion of our rich cultural heritage."
