Education in the Digital Age II

Visitors learning about the Little Rock Nine from students in Arkansas.

In November of 2024, leaders in education from every region of the world embarked for the IVLP "Education in the Digital Age II."

In Washington, D.C., visitors learned about federalism and cutting-edge innovations in the classroom, like AI, from academics, the U.S. Department of Education, Thomas Jefferson High School (Virginia), and the AU Game Center. In Sacramento, CA, the group met with state, city, and local policymakers to explore how educators and students are using technology to tackle 21st-century challenges, like misinformation and dis-information. While in California the group visited a Veterans Day parade and Clippers NBA game. In Des Moines, IA Lincoln, NE and Little Rock, AK, the group explored creative solutions to bridge the tech divide through community-led, job-program, and continuing-teacher training approaches. They also took part in community service engagements and Heartland home hospitality evenings. Concluding their journey in Orlando, FL, visitors experienced pathways for tech entrepreneurship through campus life, public-private partnerships, and economic incubators, and celebrated their time in the U.S. with visits to Disney World and the Kennedy Space Center.
