Children in the U.S. Justice System

  • To explore the U.S. judicial system with special emphasis on the legal structures in place to protect children;
  • To examine the juvenile justice system in the United States and best practices in treatment and rehabilitation tailored to the needs of juvenile offenders and their families; and
  • To examine international cooperation to combat trafficking in children and child exploitation, to resolve cross-border child custody disputes, and to implement the Hague Convention on Child Abduction.
