On November 29, 2017, Meridian’s Rising Leaders Council joined the Embassy of Singapore and the Women’s Foreign Policy Group for a discussion on “The US Engagement with the Asia-Pacific,” with Ambassador Ashok Kumar Mirpuri.
The conversation, moderated by WFPG Board Member and Lockheed Martin’s Nancy Ziuzin Schlegel, illuminated the strength of the US-Singapore bilateral relation – from educational exchanges to military assistance – as well as the importance of America’s leadership in international trade for groups like the ASEAN, which Singapore will chair beginning 2018.
The program began with a cocktail reception and traditional fare from Singapore, which gathered guests across Meridian’s, the Embassy’s and WFPG’s networks for the program.
The Rising Leaders is a dynamic network of mid-career professionals from the foreign diplomatic community, public and private sectors, and diverse disciplines, who support Meridian’s mission to advance global leadership and non-partisan public diplomacy through the exchange of people, ideas and culture.
