The Honorable David Bohigian

David Bohigian’s leadership experience spans government service, global markets, and entrepreneurship. Throughout his career, Bohigian has been driven by a belief that ideas catalyze communities, companies, and countries to create unimaginable opportunities.

Bohigian led the creation of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation, which advances U.S. foreign policy by mobilizing private capital around the world. From 2017 to 2019, Bohigian served at the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, playing a central role in securing bipartisan passage of the BUILD Act and approving $5 billion in investments worldwide. Bohigian also served as Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Market Access and Compliance from 2005 to 2009, advised two Secretaries on economic and energy policy, and represented the Department on the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States.

Bohigian’s private-sector experience includes founding and leading technology startups and investment funds. He serves as CEO of Stern Strategy Group, which connects globally renowned experts and authorities with the world’s most important organizations to drive impact. He is the founder of Pluribus Ventures, an impact fund with investments spanning affordable housing, clean energy, education, healthcare, financial services, and veterans’ initiatives. He served on the core management team at Bridgewater Associates and founded E2 Capital Partners to develop new financing models for energy efficiency. Bohigian started his career in venture capital, serving as a Managing Director at Idealab following its acquisition of VenCatalyst, the venture firm he co-founded in Washington, D.C.

Bohigian is a Senior Fellow of the Milken Institute, a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a board member of the Center for Global Development, Chair of the Freedom 250 Network, and a member of the Eagle Scout Association. He earned his B.A. from Washington and Lee University and his J.D. from Washington University School of Law.
