Sophie Brüss has been combatting anti-Semitism professionally and artistically for more than 15 years. She is currently head of the educational department and senior consultant for anti-discrimination work at SABRA, a service center for antidiscrimination work under the umbrella of the Jewish community of Düsseldorf.
Through this project, a website of educational materials was created directed towards young Jews in North-Rhine-Westphalia to support and help them when they or their peers experience anti-Semitism. Experts and 40 young Jewish community members were consulted to ensure that the website contains accurate and complete definitions of antisemitism and antisemitic acts, as well as the most up-to-date local resources for support and assistance on how to deal with anti-Semitic incidents and discrimination. Launched in January 2024, the website (juedisch.info) features a section on how to respond to antisemitic incidents and contains a list of organizations that can provide additional support. After looking at the website, a Jewish student wrote: “Very cool and so important! I thank you so much for this website. It is so important after all the problems we have in universities. Also, the design looks good on my smartphone."
