Sandy Buchanan graduated from Cleary College where she met her husband, Vern Buchanan, and they have been married 37 years. Together they started a printing franchise and after 15 years sold it and acquired automotive retail businesses. Together they still are involved in their businesses but not on a day to day basis.
Sandy now travels with her husband to Washington, D.C. on a weekly basis as he serves his fifth term in the U.S. House of Representatives for the 16th District of Florida. There she is involved in a various clubs, a prayer group and she participates alongside her husband in various Congressional duties.
Currently she is serving on the Board of Trustees for Tidewell Hospice, the Board of Trustees of the Florida House in Washington, D.C., and the Advisory Council at Mote Marine. Sandy is President of the Buchanan Family Foundation that donates and supports many local charities as well as orphanages in and outside of the United States.
Sandy and Vern have two sons, James and Matthew, as well as a daughter in law, Diana, and a new grand daughter, Lilly. Sandy’s family and church family are very important to her. She loves spending time with both of her families and her new grand daughter. She counts it all joy when she is available to help at risk kids. Sandy enjoys exercising, hiking, biking with her husband, taking mission trips (when she is able) as well as boating, fishing and reading.
