Omi Vaidya is one of the few actors and filmmakers who works in both Hollywood and Bollywood. A graduate of NYU Film School, Vaidya’s started as a video editor on independent films and went on to direct short films that have won awards at film festivals worldwide.
Vaidya’s work in front of the camera includes memorable characters on American TV shows like The Office, Arrested Development, Bones, Growing Up Fischer, and The Comeback. Vaidya made his mark in Bollywood in the Aamir Khan film, 3 Idiots, which became the biggest Indian box-office success of all time. His most recent work was a cast member on the sitcom 'Brown Nation' and the lead of the documentary "Big In Bollywood" both of which released on Netflix this year.
Currently, Vaidya is producing a film on the first Asian Congressman Dalip Singh Saund and plans to direct his first feature next year. He also works as a creative consultant and instructional designer for educational organizations and universities.
He is a strong believer in helping the underserved and was chosen as an ambassador for many Indian non-profit organizations including Pratham, AIF, Share and Care Foundation, Akshaya Patra, and Habitat for Humanity.
