Olivia Stockwell just finished her sophomore year at Central Piedmont Community College and will transfer to UNC Charlotte in the fall to major in International Studies and minor in Religious Studies. Her interest in global affairs and international relations started from a young age when she attended Socrates Academy, a K-8 Greek Immersion school, where she not only learned the Greek language and culture but gained an appreciation for cultures and traditions different than her own. During her time at CPCC, she served as the President of the Model United Nations Club, completed the North Carolina Scholars of Global Distinction Program, and won both a Student Excellence Award for her academic achievement and a Leadership Excellence Award. Throughout her time in Model UN, she has gained experience in negotiation, diplomacy, leadership, and public speaking. In her freshman year, Olivia interned with the Charlotte NC chapter of the Interfaith Youth Core working through Loaves and Fishes, a local food bank, to provide greater access to COVID-19 vaccinations. In addition, for two years she has been the Worship Support Intern at her church in charge of coordinating volunteers and preparing audio-visual materials for each worship service. When she has free time, Olivia volunteers with the Children's Ministry at her church and spends time with her four dogs.
