Michaela serves as the Senior Director of Global Public Affairs and is a member of the Public Affairs Senior Leadership team at BD. In that capacity, she is responsible for engaging with policymakers worldwide, and collaborating with regional leaders to influence government policies affecting BD's operations. Michaela leads policymaker engagement to ensure the continuity of operations, preventing supply chain and trade disruptions.
Before joining BD, Michaela served as a Vice President of International Government Affairs at Boston Scientific (BSC), where she led the company's international government affairs efforts, focusing on increasing BSC's global market access opportunities and preventing supply chain and trade disruptions. Michaela worked with BSC's leadership and government affairs teams in its largest markets in Europe and Asia developing BSC's international affairs strategy to influence global policies to ensure the best business environment for the company’s key technologies.
Prior to joining BSC, Michaela worked as Senior Trade Advisor at the Delegation of the European Union in Washington, DC. She was the Delegation lead on services and procurement negotiations in the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP).
Michaela serves on the Executive Council for Diplomacy board and on the Meridian Center for Corporate Diplomacy Strategic Advisory Committee. Michaela is also a Founder and President of the MICHE Group, consisting of approximately 120 female executives and government officials. The group was created to foster meaningful connections between its members and global leaders.
