YLAI Professional Fellows Program, Class of 2016
Mélineda Jean Baptiste is the founder and CEO of Rebèl, a Haiti-based company created in 2016, and committed to creating positive and lasting impacts in Haiti, especially in the lives of young men and women. The organization inspires young people to protect the environment by collecting plastic, glass, and iron waste left in the streets to make art products out of them. The items created are sold on the national market, and the funds support education in Haiti. Mélineda studied Applied Economics and works as an economic consultant, currently on a project focused on improving civil society participation in the national budgetary process.
