This project raised awareness of the issues Human Resources professionals face and built up the knowledge of HR managers around disability awareness. A workshop was organized for 35 HR managers from 33 national and global companies in Jakarta, Indonesia. Three disability inclusion experts led the workshop, and a commissioner from the National Disability Commission was a featured speaker. The workshop also engaged participants in a roundtable discussion led by six facilitators with disabilities. At the conclusion of the workshop, 93% of participants strongly agreed that individuals with disabilities have the right to suitable employment, and five companies specifically connected with organizers for additional consultations on hiring workers with disabilities.
Marthella participated in the IVLP Project A Global Moment in Time- Reflections on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility organized by the U.S. Department of State and Meridian International Center in partnership with Global Ties Kalamazoo, and Global Ties San Francisco.
