IVLP Impact Award Project: Disability Awareness Workshop for HR Managers

This project raised awareness of the issues Human Resources professionals face and built up the knowledge of HR managers around disability awareness. A workshop was organized for 35 HR managers from 33 national and global companies in Jakarta, Indonesia. Three disability inclusion experts led the workshop, and a commissioner from the National Disability Commission was a featured speaker. The workshop also engaged participants in a roundtable discussion led by six facilitators with disabilities. At the conclusion of the workshop, 93% of participants strongly agreed that individuals with disabilities have the right to suitable employment, and five companies specifically connected with organizers for additional consultations on hiring workers with disabilities.

"I am delighted to have had the opportunity to participate in the Disability Awareness Workshop. I gained valuable insights into government regulations related to disabilities, best practices from companies that have implemented them, and engaged in direct dialogue with disability facilitators. I hope that workshops of this nature become more frequent, and more companies provide fair and equal opportunities for individuals with disabilities." – Project Participant
