This project strengthened cognitive abilities and developed soft skills in technical education students to reduce barriers to employment. Students received training to help them prepare for interview processes, as well as to start a new position and develop as a professional. In-person and virtual workshops reviewed effective communication, team work and other employment skills.
Lurdes participated in the IVLP Project U.S. Community Colleges, organized by the U.S. Department of State and World Learning in partnership with the San Antonio Council for International Visitors and Gulf Coast Diplomacy.
Lurdes' exchange experience led to the development of her IVLP Impact Award Project: "The experience acquired in the visits to community colleges in the United States led us to value the integral formation of the students. These institutions responded to the training needs of the labor force and competencies for integrated employability and important aspects in the curriculum according to industry requirements."
