Lurdes Ordoñez Cerron has a doctorate degree in Educational Sciences and master's in Educational Management. She has specialized in personnel management and industrial relations and has experience in teaching management and consulting higher education institutions in licensing, process management and strategic direction of educational centers. Lurdes currently works for I.S.T.P Andres A. Caceres Dorregaray.
This project intends to strengthen cognitive abilities and develop soft skills in 100 technical education students to reduce barriers to employment. An important component of this project is the training and instruction that will be provided to the students so that they can gradually prepare to face the personnel selection processes, assume a job position, and develop as a professional. In-person and virtual workshops will be help to review: effective communication, team work and other employment skills.
Lurdes was a participant in the IVLP Project U.S. Community Colleges, organized by the U.S. Department of State and World Learning in partnership with the San Antonio Council for International Visitors and Gulf Coast Diplomacy.
Lurdes' exchange experience led to the development of her IVLP Impact Award Project: "The experience acquired in the visits to community colleges in the United States led us to value the integral formation of the students. These institutions responded to the training needs of the labor force and competencies for integrated employability are one of the important aspects in the curriculum according to industry requirements."
