Lilach Krakauer is a choir conductor, vocal arranger, singer, vocal painter and music educator. She received her Master's in innovative choir directing from The Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus/Aalborg, Denmark. She studied choir conducting and music education at The Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, where she founded the academy's cross disciplinary choir and where she teaches to this day. In 2022, she joined the team at 'Simply', a leading Israeli start-up in the field of music education, where she is part of the team developing an app that will make the art and joy of singing accessible to the world.
Lilach has been finalizing the details for her three events to teach Vocal Painting. The first event took place in Jerusalem on October 14. The second event, scheduled for December 3-4, will be held in Mitzpe Ramon at the "Internal Compass" music school, with arrangements already made. The final event will take place in Tel Aviv on January 14, with the studio space already booked.
Lilach’s first event was a success as she fostered a collaborative environment and received valuable feedback from participants. As people have shared the Jerusalem event, awareness of the method has already begun spreading.
Lilach is in continuous discussions with institutions such as the Jerusalem Academy's External Studies Institute and schools in central Israel to finalize the details for the Mitzpe Ramon and Tel Aviv events. Ensemble rehearsals are ongoing as she moves forward with the project.
Lilach participated in the IVLP Project Promoting Social Change Through Music organized by the U.S. Department of State and Meridian International Center, in partnership with Global New Orleans, Global Santa Fe, Global Ties Albuquerque, Global Ties Iowa, the International Citizen Diplomacy of Los Angeles, and the New York Program Branch.
Lilach’s exchange experience led to the development of her project: “One of the most significant events in the program for me was our first joint concert at The Outpost Performance Space in Albuquerque. The opportunity to perform together diverse and different stylistic music without the ability to stop, talk, guide moved us all into a state of complete devotion, truly listening and giving our full attention to the session leader.”
