Kellee Wicker

Kellee Wicker serves as the Vice President of the Center for Technology, Innovation, and Space, where she aims to illuminate emerging technologies and scientific advances that will impact numerous parts of life around the world while helping to equip diplomats and policymakers to meet the moment with policies designed to bolster and manage the innovation cycle. She brings over 15 years of policy and international affairs expertise to the role in addition to a lifelong passion for technology.
Prior to joining the Meridian International Center, Kellee led the Science and Technology Innovation Program at the Wilson Center, where she led research and convening work to advance the democratization of science and technology and bring deeper technical expertise to the U.S. government and beyond. At Wilson, her team worked to build a bridge between the policy and technical worlds, and served as a trusted resource for the U.S. legislative and executive branches as the government worked to adapt to rapid advances in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, space, digital assets, and more. Before joining the Wilson Center, Kellee served as the Chief Operating Officer for the NewDEAL, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting moderate elected officials at the state and local level across the United States and equipping with them novel policy solutions, frequently providing insights at the crossroads of technology and government.
Kellee currently serves on the board of SeedAI, a nonprofit that works to ensure AI policy meets the real needs of communities across the country while advancing U.S. leadership on the world stage, and on the board of the AI Cyber League, a nonprofit building curriculum for university students to gain hands-on experience with securing AI systems while building an international network of AI-focused infosec researchers. Kellee holds a master's in global policy studies and a master's in Latin American studies from the University of Texas at Austin, and a bachelor's degree in international studies and Spanish from the University of Mississippi.
