Kara Zelasko joined the Meridian Center for Cultural Diplomacy team after receiving her M.A. in Public History at Northeastern University. While completing her master’s degree, Kara gained experience in exhibition curation and the digital humanities with the American Archive of Public Broadcasting at WGBH, Massachusetts Historical Society, Humanities Action Lab, and additional cultural institutions. Kara also served as the Public History Chair for Northeastern University’s 2018 World History Conference, which offered international scholars the opportunity to share their historical research. Previously, Kara received her B.A. in history with a concentration in Public History at DePaul University where she participated in community storytelling projects and local history preservation with the Frances Willard Historical Association and the Chicago History Museum. As the Cultural Programs Associate, Kara supports MCCD with exhibition development, research, exchanges, and cultural programming.
