2024 IVLP Impact Award Project: Podcast: Unmasking MisinformationVenezuela

Jessica Oshiro is the Marketing Manager at El Impulso, where she brings extensive expertise in overseeing and developing marketing campaigns, traditional marketing strategies, organizational leadership, communication management across social media platforms, as well as designing and implementing comprehensive communication and advertising campaigns. She holds a diploma in Strategic Marketing and Sales Management and a degree in Marketing from UNESR.  

IVLP Impact Award Project: Podcast: Unmasking Misinformation 

Designed as an educational platform, this podcast fosters critical thinking as a crucial tool for distinguishing between authentic news and manipulated information. By engaging listeners in active learning and dialogue, the project seeks to build a more informed and resilient community capable of identifying biases, logical fallacies, and manipulation tactics in media. Through thematic episodes, expert interviews, and the dissemination of digital tools for information verification, the podcast promotes media literacy and community collaboration to combat misinformation effectively. By leveraging partnerships with local organizations and utilizing digital platforms for outreach, "Unmasking Misinformation" equips individuals with the skills and knowledge needed to navigate the digital landscape and advocate for truth in information consumption.

IVLP Exchange Experience 

Jessica participated in the IVLP Project Edward R. Murrow Program for Journalists – New and Traditional Broadcast Media organized by the U.S. Department of State and the Institute for International Education, in partnership with Citizen Diplomacy Alliance, World Affairs Council of New Hampshire, World Affairs Council of St. Louis and World Partnerships, Inc.
