Jessica Oshiro is the Marketing Manager at El Impulso, where she brings extensive expertise in overseeing and developing marketing campaigns, traditional marketing strategies, organizational leadership, communication management across social media platforms, as well as designing and implementing comprehensive communication and advertising campaigns. She holds a diploma in Strategic Marketing and Sales Management and a degree in Marketing from UNESR.
Designed as an educational platform, this podcast fostered critical thinking as a crucial tool for distinguishing between authentic news and manipulated information. By engaging listeners in active learning and dialogue, the project built a more informed and resilient community capable of identifying biases, logical fallacies, and manipulation tactics in media. Through thematic episodes, expert interviews, and the dissemination of digital tools for information verification, the podcast promoted media literacy and community collaboration to combat misinformation effectively.
By leveraging partnerships with local organizations and utilizing digital platforms for outreach, "Unmasking Misinformation" equipped individuals with the skills and knowledge needed to navigate the digital landscape and advocate for truth in information consumption. Approximately 80% of survey respondents demonstrated a good understanding of fake news, indicating heightened awareness following the podcast initiative. Survey results indicated a growing public demand for transparency from social media platforms in combating misinformation, highlighting the need for ongoing efforts to build a more informed society.
