Honorine Honkou-Late is a sociologist, women's and children's rights activist and business manager. As a consultant and gender expert, she is skilled in managing projects and developing women's movements and organizations. Honorine is the initiator of several movements for the women’s network and Christian ministry, including the NGO Femme De Demain, the Network of Associations of Women Living with HIV/AIDS, the Coordination of Women's Organizations of Togo and the Above Women Ministry. She was a laureate at the 2018 Political Academy for Women Leaders that was initiated by the European Union. She is also a female entrepreneur who works in the processing of local products. Holding positions of responsibility in several organizations that promote women's rights, Honorine is a focal point in Togo for the Global Fund for Women.
IVLP Impact Award Project: Establishment of Local Watch Cells for the Fight Against Gender-Based Violence through Community Dialogue
The project contributed to the fight against impunity in cases of gender-based violence in the prefecture of Kloto, Togo. A total of 94 administrative and traditional authorities of Kloto were sensitized on the application of laws relating to gender-based violence. Three communal watch committees were established that raise awareness and manage cases of gender-based violence. Awareness-raising materials and booklets summarizing the laws on gender-based violence were produced. Honorine participated in the IVLP Project the Ending Gender-Based Violence, organized by the U.S. Department of State and FHI 360.
