Harlène Ngalula is a coordinator at Kalamba & Associés where she advises national and international clients on legal matters. Her practice areas include OHADA Corporate Law, M&A, DRC Mining Law, and Labor Law. She also has experience in the negotiation of loan contracts, drafting of legal proceedings, preparation and presentation of pleadings and investigations in the search for unlocated debtors.
This project familiarized youth with anti-corruption laws in the DRC and how to put them into practice. Sessions also focused on building the confidence of those who are afraid to report acts of corruption or take legal action when their rights are violated. Conferences were organized at two local universities along with workshops and training for a total of 76 legal professionals working towards zero corruption in the legal system.
Harlène participated in the IVLP Project Rule of Law and the US Judicial System in 2021, organized by the U.S. Department of State and Cultural Vistas, in partnership with Gulf Coast Diplomacy, Iowa International Center, World Partnerships Inc, Global Ties Alabama, Vermont Council on World Affairs and International House.
Her exchange experience led to the development of her IVLP Impact Award Project: "I had the chance to participate in the IVLP between November and December 2021, an experience that has boosted my life. It gave me the desire to fight against inequalities and to fight for the establishment of the rule of law."
