Hana Hausnerova is Vice President of the Meridian Center for Global Leadership, Customized Exchanges. Hana overseas the design, development, and implementation of exchange and training programs for the public and private sector. She is also responsible for strategically developing, growing, and diversifying the Center’s impact by partnering with foundations, the private sector, and the U.S. Government.
Hana has more than 15 years of experience in nonprofit management, fundraising, and federal grants management.
Before joining the Meridian International Centner, Hana was the Director of Public Programs at Equal Justice Works, a nonprofit organization dedicated to public service and equal justice. In this role she managed a $15M multi-year portfolio and led team driving access to justice programs that span diverse policy issues, including housing justice, disaster resilience, support to crime victims, and more. Hana led outreach efforts to cultivate strategic partnerships and diversify funding sources to advance Equal Justice Works.
Prior to joining Equal Justice Works, Hana served in a series of leadership roles with the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative. As the Senior Advisor of Strategic Initiatives, Hana collaborated with ABA ROLI’s Board of Directors and senior management to develop and implement a strategic plan; simplify and institutionalize organization-wide program and business procedures; and procure $30M+ through fundraising and grant writing. Hana managed USG funded democracy and governance programs in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Serbia, and Tajikistan.
Hana holds an LL.M. from The George Washington University Law School, a J.D. from Suffolk University Law School, and a B.S. degree from Georgetown University. She is a dual citizen of the U.S. and the Czech Republic and speaks fluent Czech.
When Hana is not at work, she is spending quality time with her two daughters, Maya (8), Livia (5), her husband Asaf, and dog Fauci. She enjoys hiking, biking, or playing pickleball in a D.C. league.
