Hana Galitsky Ovroutski is passionate about science education. She is the director of Education and Guidance Division at Madatech-Israel National Museum of Science, Technology and Space. She believes in strengthening and promoting women and girls in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields. Hana has a master's of science degree in Science Teaching and a diploma in Educational Assessment and Measurement from the Weizmann Institute of Science. She also holds a bachelor's degree in Biology and a teaching certificate from the Hebrew University. At the Museum she has pedagogical responsibility for the development of content and programs in the field of science, technology and space for the education system.
IVLP Impact Award Project: Girls in Space and Aviation
The project connected young women to the space and aviation industry, in order to increase the number of girls studying STEM fields. A total of 127 girls, aged 12-16, were invited to a special activity at the Madatech the National Museum of Science Technology and Space in Haifa, Israel. The interactive museum tour inspired the girls to pursue careers in science and aviation.
Hana participated in the IVLP Project Advancing Women and Girls in STEAM Fields, organized by the U.S. Department of State and the Institute of International Education.
