YLAI Professional Fellows Program, Class of 2016
Gustavo Díaz is the General Coordinator of El Cantaro, a social enterprise that uses the power of art to transform our society. El Cantaro is an art shop that sells native, popular, and contemporary art, with the aim of maintaining a handmade cultural heritage and the artistic identity of Paraguay. El Cantaro also supports a Popular BioSchool, which offers the opportunity for young people to develop not only artistic expressions, but integral aspects of community values. This is done through a diverse array of free workshops and talks. This BioSchool was hand-built by the participants and the community. Gustavo has also been executive director of Sumando, an education NGO, and president of the city of Aregua's Water Council.
