Gulzira Jumamuratova is a Program Officer in Meridian’s Center for Global Leadership With over 20 years of experience in the fields of international development, law and consular affairs. Gulzira oversees multiple components of the IVLP Impact Awards program, including the review, supervision and evaluation of community impact projects implemented by IVLP alumni. Previously, she served as a Meridian IVLP Program Officer, helping international visitors address global challenges, including climate change, rule of law and law enforcement reform, entrepreneurship, preserving cultural heritage, and more. She served most recently in the Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Previously, she served as program lead and legal specialist with the Central Asian Judicial Systems Development Project, a USAID funded project in collaboration with the IRIS Center at the University of Maryland. She also worked as a Staff Attorney with the American Bar Association’s Central European and Eurasian Law Initiative (ABA CEELI). Gulzira holds a Master’s Degrees in International Law from the University of World Economy and Diplomacy in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Additionally, she spent one year at Columbia Law School in New York as a law fellow.
