Edgar Velasquez Montero is the Founder and President of EcoTapüy, a business that builds houses and facilities made of recycled polymers. EcoTapüy addresses obstacles that many families face in securing housing while also combatting environmental issues caused by waste. Edgar has volunteered with the student organization Grupo Escalera to expand higher education opportunities for high school students and has taught undergraduate courses at the Universidad Simón Bolívar and the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Universidad Simón Bolívar and is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in Development and Environment.
