Dr. Paul Jankowski is a Raymond Ginger Professor of History at Brandeis University and the former chair of the history department. His expertise is Modern European and French history as well as war and conflict in European history. Jankowski’s many books include Verdun: The Longest Battle of the Great War and Stavisky: A Confidence Man in the Republic of Virtue. He has lectured on important world affairs such as the Paris riots and written about events like the Stavisky Affair. He received his B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. from Oxford University.
