Dr. Monique Seefried is a Commissioner of the U.S. World War I Centennial Commission. She was most recently President of the Croix Rouge Farm Memorial Foundation, which formed in 2005 to remember the service of the 167th (Alabama) Infantry Regiment, a National Guard unit of the 42nd “Rainbow” Division of World War I. She previously served as Chair of the International Baccalaureate’s Board of Governors. Seefried frequently lectures on art and archaeology as well as on international education and more recently on World War I, its causes and its consequences. She received her Ph.D. in History at the Sorbonne University in Paris.
