David was Meridian’s contact and the Director of the International Visitor Program at the World Affairs Council of Oregon (1996-2000). After he left Portland, David spent time in Croatia, Boston, and rural Oregon trying out various occupations: lobbying, working as a ranch hand, grant writing, consulting, fundraising, etc. He spent several years in the Balkans serving as a humanitarian aid worker, training translators and interpreters for field work, and serving on the OSCE Sanctions Mission local government liaison for Croatia and Bosnia Herzegovina. He's also worked in Hong Kong with Asia Week Magazine and the Siberian Review in Novosibirsk, Russia. David has completed advanced studies at the Institute of Non Profit Management at Portland State University and has a BA in English literature and art history from the University of Oregon. David is fluent in Serbo-Croatian.
