Daniel Sunter, with a background in media & communications, has built a substantial track record in the industry over the past three decades. Throughout this time, he has contributed as a reporter, editor, and consultant, collaborating with various media outlets and organizations, including BK TV (Serbia), VIP News Services (Serbia), Institute for War and Peace Reporting (UK/Balkans), The Economist (UK), PBS/Channel 4 (UK), Euro-Atlantic Review (Serbia), NATO Review, as well as with PR and Strategic Communication companies like Agenda Global (US) and Cook Communications (Czech Republic). Since 2005, Mr. Sunter has been leading a Euro-Atlantic Initiative, based in Belgrade, with a focus on NATO, defense and security public affairs projects. Additionally, he founded the Balkan Security Network project, a regional initiative dedicated to fact-based reporting and countering disinformation.
Through this project, Daniel developed and distributed a guidebook to allow Serbian journalists, editors, students, and analysts to easily verify the information reported on the Russian invasion of Ukraine and counter disinformation and propaganda. In addition to the handbook, a hybrid lecture focused on countering disinformation was held, engaging 35 individuals and garnering significant media coverage. The handbook's content, focusing strictly on facts and figures with contextual information, has resonated strongly with journalists and experts. It has helped facilitate a more informed public discourse on the war in Ukraine, highlighting the importance of fact-based reporting in countering disinformation.
Daniel was a participant in the IVLP Project Building Resilience by Identifying and Combatting the Threats of Hybrid Warfare, organized by the U.S. Department of State and Meridian International Center.
