Carr Slayton serves as Senior Director for International Government Affairs at Boston Scientific. Based in Washington, DC, he is responsible for developing and implementing the company's international policy and advocacy strategies in Asia, Latin America, and Africa. He is also a member of Boston Scientific’s Global Council for Inclusion, which leads efforts to implement company-wide diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
Prior to joining Boston Scientific, Carr was a Director at the US-ASEAN Business Council, a trade association focused on supporting U.S. trade and investment in Southeast Asia. Carr led the Health & Life Sciences Committee covering the entire region, as well as cross-sector committees for Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines. Carr organized and led trade missions to each of the Southeast Asian capitals, as part of a comprehensive advocacy strategy to solve market access challenges for U.S. companies.
Before joining the Council, Carr was a Senior Account Manager for Mondial Assistance, USA in Richmond, Virginia, where he led market access implementations throughout Latin America for clients in the hospitality and healthcare industries.
A native of Virginia, Carr has a bachelor’s degree in business and resource Management from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University in Blacksburg, VA and a master’s degree in international commerce and public Policy from George Mason University in Arlington, VA.
Carr resides in Washington, DC with his partner and is active in Washington’s LGBTQ advocacy community.
