Carmiel Arbit is the Director of Strategic Engagement in AIPAC’s office of Policy and Government Affairs, where she focuses on US policy on the Middle East. She previously worked at the Brookings Institution’s Center for Middle East Policy. A co-founder of Key Bridge Strategies, Carmiel has consulted for non-profit organizations around the world, including in Israel, the Palestinian Territories, Sudan and Sri Lanka. Prior to that, she was the Project Manager, Arabian Peninsula and Levant, in AJC’s Office of Government and International Affairs; she also worked as a Global Government Affairs Specialist for Thomson Reuters. Carmiel earned her B.A. from George Washington University and her M.S. from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. In 2013, she was listed as a top Washington Influencer in Diplomatic Courier’s Top 99 Under 33 Foreign Policy Leaders. She serves on the Steering Committee of the Phillip's Collection Contemporaries and is a Truman National Security Fellow.
