YLAI Professional Fellows Program, Class of 2016

Brian Benoit has been playing steel pan, a musical instrument, for the past 15 years. The Benoit Academy of Steel Pan is an arts education, multimedia, and entertainment company that educates students to achieve excellence in the study of steel pan. He won the National Youth Award for Entrepreneurship in 2015 and the BPTT award for most outstanding student in the pan making and tuning course conducted by Pan Development Unlimited in 2009. He also won the Ideas to Innovation Award (i2i) under the Ministry of Planning for recognition of his commitment to shaping the future of Trinidad and Tobago and developing the education sector of the steel pan industry.
