Bobbi Barrasso is a Wyoming native, growing up in Thermopolis. She is a graduate of the University of Wyoming, with degrees in speech pathology and law. Bobbi has always been passionate about Wyoming people and places. She has had a long and distinguished career in public service, working for U.S. Senators Malcolm Wallop and Craig Thomas. She has been active on various boards, including the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Natrona County, Raising Readers in Wyoming and the University of Wyoming Art Museum.
When Bobbi learned of the high incidence of suicide in Wyoming, she helped found the group Congressional Spouses for Suicide Prevention and Education. Through this group, she’s been able to lend her voice to promote awareness in an effort to save lives in Wyoming and across the country. She has been recognized for that work as the 2015 National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Wyoming Champion for Suicide Prevention.
As a breast cancer survivor, Bobbi is actively involved with the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and Komen Wyoming events. She has also been actively involved with the State Historic Preservation Office through its Preserve Wyoming program to recognize those working to preserve our state's special and historic places.
Bobbi is married to U.S. Senator John Barrasso. They live in Casper and have three grown children.
