IVLP Impact Award Project: Building Capacities of Young Women and Women-led MSMEs on Cybersecurity and Digital/Online Safety

The project developed the capacity of more than 400 women and women-led micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) in 6 districts in West Bengal to prevent and combat cyber threats. Six capacity building workshops were organized at the local level to raise awareness about cyber-crimes and help participants build the necessary toolkits to avoid them. Participants adopted cybersecurity practices such as only downloading things from trusted sources, and not accepting unknown friend requests on social media.

"This is the first time we are hearing the word cybersecurity. We often do not follow the steps that were mentioned in the workshop, which could have led to us falling prey to serious online frauds. Many thanks for making us aware. We will not make these mistakes and will also spread the good practices among our networks." - Project Participant
