Abdoul Afize Ouedraogo is an entrepreneur, project manager, and business developer. He has experience working in Burkina Faso's developing business environment and strives to use the commercial sector to create positive social change.
The SET program in Burkina Faso empowered 31 students in sustainable entrepreneurship and coding to tackle social issues in three domains: good governance and democracy, environment protection, and education. Abdoul conducted training and coaching sessions, creativity workshops, and a pitch competition. The program selected three impactful projects promoting values such as civility, tolerance, peaceful conflict resolution, gender promotion, community wellbeing, entrepreneurship, and innovation. As a result of the program, several participants now want to launch entrepreneurial ventures and community outreach initiatives leveraging the skills and knowledge gained during the training sessions.
Abdoul participated in the IVLP Project, Entrepreneurship as the Engine of Prosperity and Stability - Small Business Development Program, organized by the U.S. Department of State and Meridian International Center, in partnership with Global New Orleans, Global Ties Idaho and Global Ties San Francisco.
Abdoul's exchange experience led to the development of his IVLP Impact Award Project: "During my stay in the United States through the IVLP, I had a great experience during my visit to Boise State University and the University of California, where I learned how these universities accompany students to create innovative and impactful projects to solve social problems."
