Meridian International Center Announces New Executive Vice President Lee Satterfield

Washington DC: Meridian International Center is pleased to welcome Lee Satterfield to its leadership team. Ms. Satterfield joined the team as Executive Vice President on April 1, 2015, and brings more than 2 decades of leadership experience in the public, political, and private sectors.

In her role as Meridian’s Executive Vice President, Ms. Satterfield will serve as Deputy to Meridian’s President and CEO in all leadership and management functions of the organization, and will focus on maximizing organizational effectiveness and efficiency. She will also serve as principal liaison to the diplomatic corps, private sector, and governments around the world including outreach and decision making on strategy and priorities.

Ms. Satterfield has an accomplished career in public diplomacy and held many senior positions in the U.S. government including the State Department and White House. As Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, she was responsible for professional and cultural exchanges. Ms. Satterfield also served as Deputy Chief of Protocol of the United States where she managed programs with the diplomatic corps on behalf of President Obama and Secretary of State Clinton. At the White House, she was Special Assistant to the President and Staff Director of the Office of Public Liaison during the Clinton Administration. She possesses strong management skills having served as Chief of Staff at the U.S. Department of Labor. Since leaving the State Department in 2014, Ms. Satterfield worked in the private sector as a consultant to several multinational clients for strategic planning and organization structure.
