SECRETARY BLINKEN WELCOMES CHIEFS OF MISSION AT MERIDIAN RECEPTION

On June 22, Meridian co-hosted a reception with the U.S. Department of State with Secretary of State Antony Blinken and U.S. Ambassadors returning to Washington for the annual U.S. Chiefs of Mission Conference. ENGAGE IN CULTURAL DIPLOMACY WITH THE GLOBAL HUMANITIES SYMPOSIUM

 

For the second year, the Meridian Center for Cultural Diplomacy partnered with the National Endowment for the Humanities for the 2022 Global Humanities Symposium: Engaging in Cultural Diplomacy. On July 21, art and culture experts and enthusiasts met in person at Meridian House and virtually to learn how cultural diplomacy enables individuals and communities to find common ground, forge more stable relationships, and foster mutual respect. Watch here.

 

THE RETURN OF THE BRITISH-AMERICAN PARLIAMENTARY GROUP

In partnership with the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), Meridian welcomed British parliamentarians to the U.S. for the first time since 2019 to take part in an intensive ten-day exchange that includes Congressional appointments in Washington, several days of shadowing a Member of Congress in their home district, and more.

This year marks the 45th anniversary of the program. The group met with Meridian stakeholders for a luncheon diving into current U.S.-U.K. relations and for an evening reception in their honor. Learn more about the program’s rich history here.

54th Annual Meridian Ball

​​​​​​Dubbed “the last real ball in Washington” by The Washington Post, the 54th Annual Meridian Ball consists of intimate dinners at ambassadorial residences across the city and a special on-campus dinner at the regal White-Meyer House. Following dinner, attendees proceed to Meridian House for the Ball with luminaries from the U.S. government, media, corporate world, and philanthropic communities.
