Private Investment Abroad: Conversation with OPIC’s Ray Washburne
OPIC President Ray Washburne and 20 corporate leaders met for a dialogue on economic challenges and opportunities in trade policy negotiations in the United States. He shared what American businesses hoping to expand into emerging markets can do, and what role entrepreneurship can play in foreign policy. This program is part of Meridian’s Corporate Council platform, connecting the private sector with the diplomatic community and policy makers for dialogue and networking on issues in order to understand, operate and compete in a global economy. Exploring the U.S. – Mexico Relationship
Amid ongoing and contentious NAFTA renegotiations, Meridian in partnership with AT&T; gathered a group of public and private sector leaders for a discussion on the magnitude of the U.S.-Mexico relationship and the various avenues to strengthen bilateral cooperation. Mexican Ambassador Geronimo Gutiérrez shared important elements of U.S.-Mexico relations before several Administration officials and Members of Congress including Congressman Ruben Gallego (D-AZ); Congressman Will Hurd (R-TX); Congresswoman Norma Torres (D-CA) among others.
