ANNOUNCING THE 11TH ANNUAL MERIDIAN GLOBAL LEADERSHIP SUMMIT

This year’s Meridian Global Leadership Summit on Friday, October 21, will explore the nexus of diplomacy and emerging technology and ways the public and private sectors can collaborate with civil society on policies to address the global economic, security, and environmental challenges and opportunities these innovations will bring. Speakers include Ambassador of the United Kingdom to the U.S. H.E. Dame Karen Pierce, Ambassador of Chile to the U.S. H.E. Juan Gabriel Valdes, Congressman Ro Khanna, ServiceNow's CEO Bill McDermott and U.S. Department of State Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Cyberspace and Digital Policy Jennifer Bachus. The program will take place in-person at the U.S. Institute of Peace headquarters in Washington, DC, with a livestream available for a global audience.

Amplifying alumni global impact

Through the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) Impact Awards Initiative, Meridian, in partnership with the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, is supporting IVLP alumni creating transformative change in their communities. This year, 220 IVLP Impact Awardees in over 110 countries are leading projects that leverage knowledge, experience and connections gained on their IVLP experience. Awardee's projects include expanding healthcare, disarming disinformation, promoting entrepreneurship and shared prosperity, improving cybersecurity, advancing climate solutions, and defending human rights. This summer, Meridian has worked hard to offer youth leadership development opportunities through our suite of exchange and training programs. From our first cohort of the Study of the U.S. Institutes (SUSI) for Student Leaders from Europe to the new Pan-Africa Youth Leadership Program (PAYLP) Alumni All Stars initiative to the recurring Next30 – Young Leaders of Central Asia program, all funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, these programs allow young leaders to gain valuable skills and access to networks of established leaders, as well as the resources and insight into critical global issues.

54th Annual Meridian Ball - Sold Out

Dubbed “the last real ball in Washington” by The Washington Post, the 54th Annual Meridian Ball consists of intimate dinners at ambassadorial residences across the city and a special on-campus dinner at the regal White-Meyer House. Following dinner, attendees proceed to Meridian House for the Ball with luminaries from the U.S. government, media, corporate world, and philanthropic communities.
