WASHINGTON, DC – The nonpartisan, nonprofit Meridian International Center will host its 12th Annual Meridian Global Leadership Summit on October 20, 2023, on Global Cooperation in an Era of Strategic Economic Competition.
As nations worldwide grapple with repercussions from Russia’s war in Ukraine, the aftermath of COVID-19, and the effects of climate change, they seek mutually beneficial economic partnerships that help develop their infrastructure, capitalize on digital transformation, futureproof their industries, and grow jobs to their young workforces.
Governments that modernize their international development systems and boost private sector investments enable their allies and partner nations to cultivate more inclusive economies that empower local communities. These efforts promote global economic development characterized by transparency, accountability, and evidence-based practices.
During the Summit, global diplomatic and policy leaders and private sector experts will discuss reimaging development aid and financing, incentivizing investments in innovation, food security, climate resilience, the rise of fit-for-purpose coalitions, and industrial policy on our two concurrent stages. Additionally, Meridian will launch its latest initiative: the Meridian Center for Corporate Diplomacy. A full press release will be released on October 20, 2023.
This event is the 12th Annual summit focused on the power and promise of economic diplomacy and public-private partnerships to foster international cooperation. The central question asks – how can the U.S. public and private sectors serve as a better partner to developing nations? The Meridian Global Leadership Summit is Washington’s premier convening neutral, nonpartisan forum to exchange ideas and collaborate on solutions to today's most pressing global challenges and opportunities. The event is invite-only.
