Staying Afloat in the Wake of a Pandemic

Thursday, October 8 | 10:00-11:00 A.M. EDT

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected every part of our daily lives. Protecting our loved ones, maintaining financial stability, coping with competing family priorities while working from home and watching an unfolding global crisis is unsettling for most of us. But how is the pandemic affecting personal well-being globally? How can governments and the private sector make resources more available to individuals struggling with mental health?

We welcome you to join us for “Staying Afloat in the Wake of a Pandemic: Mental Wellness and COVID-19,” the next program in our Diplocraft series. The program will bring together members of the foreign diplomatic corps, private sector leaders, and influencers. This program is being held in close cooperation with our partner, Sahouri Insurance. Speakers at this interactive session will explore key findings from Cigna’s COVID-19 Global Impact Study about people’s perceptions of key factors like physical, family, social, financial and work well-being around the world. The session will also provide resources for individuals and organizations from government, NGOs, and the private sector to effectively advocate for mental wellness during these unprecedented difficulties.

Speakers will include: Dr. Amanda Clinton, Senior Director of the Office of Global Affairs, American Psychological Association, Dr. Peter Mills, Medical Director, Cigna and Taweel Tawil, Vice President, Sahouri Global Health.

The discussion will take place on Zoom webinar. Click here to register. Questions may be directed to MCDE@meridian.org or (202) 939-5546.
